This year after Christmas we headed up to Idaho to hang out and my mom and dads. Of course....as always it was lots of fun. One day dad took the boys ice fishing. It got off to a slow start, but finally the fish started
bitting. Bridger caught about 7 fish and was so excited on his last catch to get an 18inch fish. You should hear him tell the story....the fish just gets bigger and bigger!

Thought it was funny that the boys kept leaning down to check on the hole. Like they were going to see the fish or something.

At the last minute we decided to head over to Jackson Hole, WY. We had a place that we were going to be able to stay and thought it would be something fun to do. The weather wasn't great...as you can see....but the worst part was when we got to the top of the
Teton Pass. It was pretty scary. Right at the very top we saw a big ole moose come down the
mtn and walk across the road. It was pretty cool and just the start to all the wildlife we saw on this trip.

One of the best things we did was taking the boys on the sleigh ride out onto the elk refuge. You load up on these big sleighs and the big horses haul you out on the refuge. You are able to get really close to the elk. Elk from hundreds of miles around come down to the range during the winter to feed. Jason and I had done this before, but it was the boys first time. They thought it was awesome.

This is just a small amount of the elk we saw....they had about 3600 head of elk on the refuge!

You can't go to Jackson and not get a picture next to the antler arches in the town square. Classic!

Our guide at the elk refuge told us how we could drive behind the refuge and find big horn sheep...so we did and again couldn't
beleive how many we saw. This was the boys favorite part cause it was amazing to sit and watch so many sheep jumping around on these huge cliffs and rocks. I had never seen anything like that in person for sure!

Here are some pictures from the cabin we stayed at. Logan (below) enjoying his swim in the big tub!

This cabin is at Spring Creek Ranch....what an amazing place!

Jason and the boys making breakfast one morning.

This was an elk that was right along the road coming into
Sprink Creek Ranch. Pretty amazing to see them so close and not spooked at all. Much different than during hunting season when Jason is trying to get close :) I think they know when they are safe and when they are not.

We had a really long drive home....with bad roads almost the whole way. We really enjoyed the trip though, so it was worth it.

We were about an hour outside Jackson in Alpine when we saw this huge herd of elk cross the highway....again, very amazing!!! Although Jackson is not ideal to go to in the winter because of the bad roads, it is an awesome time to see so much wildlife!!!

Last, but not least.....we HAD to stop at Bridger National Forest so Bridger could get a picture.
Afterall, we did name Bridger after Jim Bridger a mountain man. He thought it was awesome that somewhere was named after him (
thats what he kept saying)
