Sledding Part I

The day before Christmas, Jason took the boys sledding. We have this great place close to our house. It doesn't seem like the hills are that steap until you start to head down them on a sled. The boys had a great time, Jason got worn out packing Logan up the hill though. Maybe they need a rope tow!
Jason, Bridger and Logan....getting ready to head down the hill. Carly ( a neighbor friend ) and Bridger next to Dads truck! Getting all geared up.

All the kids, packed on one sled....they were loving it!

Sledding Part II

I had told my brother about this great place to sled by our house, so we decided to take my boys and his two little boys over there. Here are some pictures. Bridger and Logan....freezing their butts off. It was fun, but really cold. If the wind wouldn't have been blowing then it wouldn't be that bad. I think it was only about 20 degrees.
Ted, Carson and Mitch!

Here they go. You really get flying down the hill. The kids loved it, but I have to say I was a little nervous.

Little Logan....even he can't get enough of the snow!

Merry Christmas

So we had a great Christmas at the Sheppard house. We started out with lettting the kids open their new pj's and one present on Christmas Eve. I let them open the gifts from my parents. My mom had made the boys these capes. Growing up, we had a little Superman cape that got more use out of it than any toy. So she made them for the boys and they are already loving them. Logan was running around all night saying, "I'm a super hero"! Pretty funny!
Here is the "Super Hero and Vilan" fighting with dad!

Bridger was trying to look tough with all his gear on! He loves it grandma!
The boys opening their presents!
Here we are at Jason's family's house this morning. They scored again there!

The Simple Things

Since I'm now a "stay at home mom" I'm starting to understand how to just appreciate the simple things. When I was working and always on such a tight schedule I was always so uptight....I was always trying to fit as much in as possible. I never really would slow down enough to appreciate the little things. Last night after I made dinner, me, Jason and the boys sat down at watched Polar Express. We turned off all the lights except on the Christmas tree so it was nice and cozy. I just sat there the whole time thinking how nice it was. I wasn't worried about a million other things, or getting up trying to handle multiple things at once. It was just a really nice night with the family. Hopefully there will be many more enjoyable nights like that to come!!!

Christmas Tree Hunting....

....unsuccessful! I can't believe we were gone for about five hours and couldn't even find a Christmas tree. This is our second year going with our friends to get Christmas trees. This year wasn't so good though. We were having bad weather so we were never able to get high enough to get into pine trees. All we had to choose from was cedar trees and we didn't want those. So....no tree! Who knows what we are going to do now!

Hard at work....

Here is Bridger working on the computer. I heard about this cute website that helps kids with the alphabet and learning to read. It is www.starfall.com. He was having lots of fun with it. Thats the thing....it kinda tricks kids into thinking its fun instead of learning. Whatever works right?I just thought he looked so cute!

Winter is finally here....

As you can see, we woke up to several inches of snow and it keeps coming. We went out to shovel the walks, but ended up with the four wheeler out and taking kids for rides on the sled. It was fun! I think this is really one of the first times that Logan has played in the snow. He was loving it!
