2nd Grader

It was Bridger's first day of 2nd Grade today. I stayed home and took him over to school. It was a fun morning. I just can' beleive how fast he is growing up. Of course, Logan had to be in the picture as well.

Great Weekend

What a fun weekend we had. Jason was gone for the first weekend of hunting season so it was just me and the boys. We got up early on Saturday and met Tiffany at the Trax station to ride the "train" downtown. Bridger and Logan had never been on the train so they thought is was way cool. We got downtown by about 10:00am and we to breakfast at JB's. It was just me and Tiffany and a total of 7 kids. It was a little hectic, but over all the kids were good and we all had a fun time.

After breakfast we walked over to the Gateway and hung out for a while. The kids played in the water (even though it was cold outside) we couldn't keep them out of the fountain.

Logan and Tiff on the Trax. How cute!

After we came back from downtown me, Logan, Bridger and Rhianna went to a movie. We had some time to kill before going to Katie's birthday party. We saw Night at the Museum. It was cute!

Finally at 3:00pm we headed over to Classic Skating for Katie's birthday party. The kids got to ride scooters and play on all sorts of toys. They had a blast.

On Sunday...we got up and went for a bike ride and went to play at the school playground. Summer is coming to a close, Bridger starts school this coming week. 2nd Grade...I can hardly believe it.

60 Miles Down!

Here are a couple pictures from my ride I did on Saturday. I made it...all 60 miles. Once again, this was a big challenge, but I'm so glad I did it. The best part about it was that a friend from Merit (Joy) rode with me. She is a very experienced rider and this 60 miles was a piece of cake for her, but she stuck by me and was very motivating. She taught me lots of good things about road biking and she was just awesome company. If it wasn't for her, I really wanted to give up at about mile 50. I had just hit a wall and was out of energy. We had this horrible head wind about the last 10 miles, but she took it slow with me and we went through the finish line together. It took about 6 hours to finish...and I literally teared up when I finished. I was so happy to have done it....and so happy to be done! :)

A little side note about this picture below....oh yeah...my first official crash. So we were at mile 30 and I was feeling great. That far had been so enjoyable and we were just cruising along. Well kind of hard to explain, but I was on the inside of Joy and I just thought the route we were taking went straight, but I guess we were supposed to turn. She signaled and everything, but I just wasn't paying attention. She turned right and I kept going straight and I clipped her back tire and I crashed hard. It felt like it happened in slow motion, and with my feet clipped in there was no way for me to catch my fall. I skidded across the road...I just remember my helmet scrapping along the road. I sat up and felt all shook up.....I looked behind me and there was a lady in a mini van that had stopped cause I was in the middle of the road. Joy came over and helped me up. I sat down for a little and was hurting pretty bad. My head was killing me...it just hit so hard. One of the SAG vehicles stopped to help and we cleaned up the wounds and took some Advil and we were back on our way. One of the things that I thought was pretty funny was, after this happened I thought "well I'm done". Like I couldn't really picture getting back on my bike, and the next thing I know Joy says, "well probably the sooner you get back on your bike the better". It was just so funny...it was like in her head there wasn't any reason I shouldn't get back on on keep going. So....that's what I did....I got back on and kept going! Today my whole left side is so sore, hip, shoulder, head, knee and wrist. Oh well, what a good experience it all was! Another ride that I will have to do next year!

ULCER Ride

A couple weeks ago I finally invested in a road bike. I am so excited about it. This all happened after I rode my mtn bike in the MS Bike ride the end of June. It was hard and kinda sucked. Then my sister KK brought a road bike home to Idaho a couple weeks ago and I rode it...what a difference it made. I was convinced then and had started looking. I think me and Jason looked at every bike shop between SLC and Provo and I finally found one that I liked. It is a Specialized Allez. I got one that me and Jason could both use, so he likes it to. It looks like this bike below except mine is gray. So this coming weekend I decided to do another bike ride and give my new bike a try. It is called ULCER (Utah Lake Epic Century Ride). There are three options that you can do: 33, 66, or 111. I think I'm going to try the 66 mile route. It should be a good challenge. I'm a little nervous and wish I had someone to go with. Who knows, maybe I will meet some new biker friends. :)

I will report how the ride goes. Wish me luck!

Camping

These picutes are tiny cause Jason took them on his phone and then emailed them to me. He took the boys camping overnight this weekend. They came home totally filthy, but they had a blast. Bridger said his favorite part was roasting marshmallows and Logan said his favorite part was the 4 wheeler ride....sounds like they both had fun!
