Ireland - Day 1

I put the pictures on here backwards....so its going to go down the day from night to morning. Just keep that in mind. Ireland has been so awesome....I have seen and done so many great things while being here. Scroll down to the beginning if you want to hear about it in order: Cool signs around Galway!
This was a way cool pub called "The Quays", pronounced Keys!

Here's the deal with this picture: I guess on the weekends the women get dressed up...like you can't believe. Short skirts, high high heels....the women like this where everywhere and me and Judy couldn't stop staring. So finally at the end of the night Judy stopped this big group of girls and told them it was Bill's birthday and wanted to know if they could get in a picture with him. It was pretty funny. I'm sure Bill didn't have a problem with it!

A put called "The Crane" had this little group playing. This was a very interesting place with VERY interesting people.

First pint of Guinness. You can't go to Ireland and not try a Guinness right?

We got back from our tour about 5:00pm on Saturday. Joan was tired and wanted to just go back to her room...so I was in the lobby doing something and ran into Judy (a Regional Manager) and her and her husband where getting ready to go out. They invited me to head out on the town with them. Boy where they fun!!!! We headed out and started hitting the local pubs in Galway. By the end of the night I think that we had been to about 6 different places.

Joan and I in front of Dunguaire Castle.
This is the Dunguaire Caslte. They stopped so we could get out and take pictures and walk around.

A cool old cemetery outside of Doolin.
I tried to get a good picture to show just how small these country roads where. They look like they should be a one way road. Very often on the tour you could hear the side of the bus rubbing up along the bushes along the left side of the road. They had to get over as much as they could.

Another old caslte in Doolin.

After the Cliffs, we went to a little place in Doolin for lunch. It was pretty good and gave a great feel of a little old Irish Pub! Loved it!

The Cliffs of Moher....what a sight! It was amazing being here. It was so windy...I mean so windy that both me and Joan just about got blown over on the stairs. It was wind about 50 mph. You really can't imagine how windy it gets up there. It was bad for sure!

Here was the first sign when I got to the Cliffs of Moher. Had to get a picture of that! I guess its really not that funny because the bus driver told us people really do die there. People have either accidentlly been too close to the edge and get blown off or there are several people that have gone there to commit suicide. (I still thought the sign looked funny)

No...this was a super old thatched house. They are so cool looking.

This was at Poulnabrone Dolman. I kinda laughed cause on the brochure I thought it was going to be huge and we go there an it was pretty small. I tried to take pictures that made it look bigger.

Just a picture of our tour bus. I should have gotten a picture of our driver...his name was Billy and we thought he was really funny.

Self portrait of me and Joan in the caves.

One of the stops on the tour was the Aillwee Caves. It was interesting...but I didn't really like being in the cave...I had to really try and calm myself down so I didn't have a panic attack. I don't know what I was thinking going into them.

Some of the pictures I don't even know what they were....I just kept trying to take as many pictures of cool stuff as possible.
This is as we headed out of town on our tour. The good thing was we got on the bus first and got front row seats. It was a great veiw at least.

Saturday Morning: It was just me and Joan that got to Ireland early. So after we finished what we needed to at the Galway office on Friday we planned a fun day out on Saturday. We went to the tourist office and signed up for a bus tour. We had a car, but we were still feeling a little nervous to head out on our own (remember...they drive on the left side of the road....and they gave me a stick shift....twice as bad)

Ireland....so far!

Here are a couple pictures from Ireland so far. Well...they are not the pictures I have taken, but I couldn't get them downloaded to put on blog so I got pictures off the web. Cool castles...and the Cliffs of Moher. This is only two days so far...we have done so much fun stuff. I wanted Bridger and Logan to be able to see what I have been up to. Love you kids!

Grandma Sheppard 90th Birthday

We went to Grandma Sylvia's 90th birthday last weekend. I thought these pictures with Jason and her were cute.
Logan was giving her the gift we got. Books on CD. She said she likes listening to those.
